I've read this in Norwegian - also ages ago. Still, unlike you, I remember it fairly well. I liked it well enough. It didn't really stand out among the other books I read of the series as particularly good or bad.

I just noticed it. My brain had been ignoring the flashy colour and the intrusive shape as "meaningless advertisement", didn't notice what it was until the fourth time I scrolled past it.

As always when you review a book that you make me actually consider reading (this time helped out strongly by Cryonic, Terje and Amras all having reviewed it favourably before), I'll only ask if you put this above or below Hobb in what you'd recommend to me.

Nice review, you really made me see what bits of the book drew you to it without it feeling like you were overhyping it.

What do you know, I actually saw and read this review through LibraryThing before I saw it here, as I by some fluke logged on today to see if I'd gotten any interesting news or something like that.

It's been so long since I read "Guards! Guards!" that I'm actually not sure if I ever have at this point. I know I've read at least one book with Vimes, though.

Nice review, despite my really only getting the rather obvious "you should read more Discworld!"-message out of it I'd expect from any review of a book so far into the series.
