The next step in the LCK is relative clauses. As is my new habit, I’ll put all the grammar stuff behind the cut, so you can easily skip it.

With a hectic week winding down, I finally get to get back to my conlanging.
If you have no interest whatsoever in conlanging, you don’t need to read beyond the cut. here’s a joke, so your trip wasn’t wasted:
Why won’t sharks attack lawyers? Professional courtesy.
What? Like I’m a comedian?

All right, I’ve changed the top image, played around with the colors and ended up with this. I think it works, for now. What do you think?
Yes, Loki, I’m asking you.

These templates proved to be a lot harder to grasp than I had hoped. I realise that this is going to take a while, a much too long while, so I’ve found a nice theme I’ll use instead. This looks nice, I think. I’ve done some minor tweaking, but nothing much. I still have to replace the header image, once I find a nice one. This theme can be used until I make my own, some day far in the future.

Still not making headway on those templates, but I have been making headway on the Red Dwarf RPG stuff. One of my friends wants to play as an evolved turtle, and since others out there with access to google might want to as well, I’m putting up the caps and stuff we’ve made for testudo sapiens. It’s based mainly on Iguana, since they’re both reptiles. Some of it is pure bull, like the swimming. I put it in to be nice, but if you feel that a land-dwelling creature developing a swimming instinct after further three million years on dry land (or metal, as is the case here) is just too far-fetched even for Red Dwarf, you can take it out. The falling thing is just too funny to remove, though…
The caps and description of turtles has been moved here.

Ever play the Red Dwarf roleplaying game? Well… me neither, but I plan to! Me and some friends are working on setting up a game, with me as A.I., which is scary since I’ve never run a game before, but that’s not the point. The point is, that if you’ve read the book, you might have noticed that there’s something off about the rules for holograms. Mainly the fact that they don’t make any kind of sense. The immense monstrosity that is Red Dwarf can only sustain one, yet every little Starbug unit gets one each as well? Bull. And what’s with all the contradicting and bloated gadgets you apparently need to run one?
To make the whole thing easier, I’ve written some house rules regarding holograms, and the technology behind them. I think it’s pretty faithful to the progression Rimmer made in the show, I’ll just assume they discovered and installed these more advanced versions of holograms in between episodes. I’m playing loose and fast with dates here, but the show did that as well, so that’s OK. Where I contradict the book, I use my way, otherwise, the rules in the book are used as written. I’m putting it up here, in case anybody else who finds the hologram rules to be batshit crazy want an alternative, or inspiration for making their own alternative.
The rules have been moved here.

I’m not doing well with these templates. Every time I thing I’ve made progress, all content vanishes. All help files I find seem to assume that I want to do minor tweaks to an already existing theme, which isn’t what I want at all, so it’s slow going. So I’m taking a break from it today, to write a little summary.
You see, in my old blog, which I was doing until I purchased this, I was in the middle of a project, a conworld. Or, more accurately, a conlang, a constructed language. The idea is to make a language for my imagined world, for later use in stories and such. I figure that, since I’m now moving over here, this would be a good moment to summarize and revise where needed, so that I can continue working on it here without needing to constantly refer back to my old blog.
Since some people might not give a damn, I’m throwing in a cutoff here…

There are several factors which suggest that this website will never, ever be a success. Facts that speak against the possibility of me gaining faithful friends and fans and making lots of money from advertising. For kicks and giggles, let’s list some, shall we?
- Lack of a clear Mission Statement - Seriously, it says that you need one right in the WordPress ‘getting started’ documentation. This site is currently pretty aimless, it’s a bit about this and that and whatever’s on my mind. Successful websites have topics and target audiences.
- Lack of a bitter author - I’m not very bitter or angry, and successful web authors usually are. Or at least pretend to be. This is because the Internet is filled with angry and abusive people, I suppose. The point I’m trying to make here is, successful people are asstards.
- Lack of original web design - I’m actually planning to make my own design, once I figure all this template business out, but for now, this is a downloaded theme.
- Lack of training/talent - Unlike many of the great bloggers of the net,I’m not a professional writer.
I’m sure I could think of more if I took some more time. See, right there’s another one, lack of serious commitment. This seems doomed to failure!
And yet, here I am, writing this anyway. Why? Because I feel like it! And that, right there, is the key to happiness, doing what I feel like, for my own enjoyment and growth. In this case growth of my writing abilities and my web design abilities, hopefully, and on they way I might even accidentally entertain somebody while trying. Who cares about success? I care about fun!
So what will be in this blog? Everything and nothing, the way it should be. Stuff I write, obviously, opinions and fiction. My work on my very own little conworld. Very occasionally, maybe even a word or two about me and what I do and see. In time, a topic might emerge.
My name is Erlend. On the Internet, I usually call myself Obdormio. I’m very nearly twenty years old, I currently study creative writing and game design, and I just paid for twelve months webhosting.
I’d better use this stuff now.
